The Last Visits view in the Yard Map allows you to quickly assess the operational health of your beekeeping sites. By identifying which yards have gone too long without a visit, you can take action to improve hive health, keep your Nectar data accurate, and ensure more efficient field operations.
Ideally, all active yards should appear green (visited recently). If a yard turns yellow, orange, or red, it's a signal that it has been too long since the last visit—and may require attention. Visit frequency should be adapted to the season, colony lifecycle, and operation goals.
To access this data, follow these steps:
Step 1 - Access the Yard Map
From the Whiteboard, select the Yard Map tab.
Step 2 - Enable Last Visits View
Click the Last visits toggle at the top-left of the map. When it's active, you'll see a ✔ next to it.
The Last Visits panel will appear in the bottom-left of your screen. This panel gives you a quick snapshot of yard visit activity grouped by timeframe.
Click on any of the date ranges (e.g., "More than 91 days," "Between 8 and 65 days") to filter the map view to just that group of yards.
You can also click the gear icon in this panel to:
Customize the color-coded ranges (e.g., redefine what counts as a “recent” visit)
Enable or disable the option to treat hive movement as a visit, depending on how your team tracks work in the field
Tips and tricks
1. Use Yard Filters to Target Specific Data
Click Filter Yards to open a menu of yard-specific filters.
Here you can filter by:
Yard status (e.g., active, unloaded, inactive)
Yard flags (e.g., queenless, requiring attention)
Last visit timeframes (0–7 days, 8–65 days, etc.)
Yard type (e.g., pollination, mating yard, wintering)
Groups if you’ve segmented your yards.
2. Filter Last Visits by Activity
Click Filter Last Visit to define what qualifies as a visit.
This allows you to include or exclude specific beekeeping practices such as:
Feeding
Queen management
Treatment
Hive grading
Honey harvest
Deadout reasons, and more
This ensures your map reflects only meaningful visits based on your team’s workflows.
3. Customize Color Coding in Last Visit Options
Click the gear icon on the Last Visits panel to adjust the color thresholds:
Green: Visited in the last 0–7 days
Yellow: 8–65 days
Orange: 66–90 days
Red: 91+ days or no visit logged
You can also choose whether hive movement should be counted as a visit.
4. Filter by Date Range
To narrow your view to yards visited within a specific timeframe, use:
The Last Visits panel (bottom-left)
Or Filter Yards > Last Visits
This helps identify gaps or ensure seasonal checks are being performed on time
5. Customize Map Details with the Layer Icon
To tailor the map view to your specific needs, click the layer icon (usually located in the top-right corner of the map). From here, you can:
Enable or disable street and city names for a cleaner view
Show or hide yard blocks for easier visual grouping
Enable bee flight radius to better understand how close your yards are to forage zones or each other
These options allow you to reduce visual clutter or enhance context depending on the task.
Take action
Use the map each morning to identify clusters of yards that need visits.
At the end of the day, check the map to confirm all intended visits were logged.
