Cycles is a way to keep track of different tasks being completed in your operation. When doing a task to a subset of yards or all yards, you can add visits to a 'cycle' which allows you to track the progress of that task.
For example, if you were going to treat all yards in the next 3 weeks, you could set up a cycle to track the treating progress as it happens.
The cycle will be considered complete once all visits are completed or the time frame of the cycle has expired.
1. Create the cycle
Create the cycle by clicking +Create Cycle or +Add under the cycle section in planning.
Note: If there are existing cycles, you will only see the "+Add" option.
2. Name the cycle, select the Focus from the list, and enter the start and end dates of the cycle
Give the cycle a name.
Choose the Focus from the dropdown.
Add the start and end dates
3. Assign visits to the cycle
You have two options to start adding visits:
From the cycle’s 3-dot menu, select +Add Visit.
From the top right, select Create Visits.
Both options open the yard map. Then:
Enter a description for the visit.
(Optional) Assign a crew.
If you don’t assign a crew, the visit will go to the Unassigned Crew list for scheduling later.
Select yards to add:
Use the Draw Selector at the top of the map to draw a boundary around multiple yards (most common for cycles).
Use the Search bar to find and select yard names.
Click the + on individual yards.
Note: If you chose +Add Visit, the cycle will already be populated for you. If you chose Create Visits, you’ll also need to select the cycle.
4. Keep track of cycle progress in the planning tab
In the Planning tab, each cycle shows a progress bar that updates as visits are completed.
To see your cycles on a calendar, switch to the Cycles tab. Use the left/right arrows to move between quarters.
Tips & Tricks
Use map filters to narrow down to only the yards that need the specific work. This makes selecting the right yards faster and easier.
Use the Filter Cycles button in Planning to view cycles by focus.
