Track deadouts and fix hives

Learn how to report a hive as deadout from the app.

Updated over 7 months ago

Reporting a dead hive in the app is simple and efficient. When a hive is scanned as 'deadout,' the operation's mortality score will immediately reflect this update. The tag can then be repurposed for a new hive in the future. Additionally, you have the option to fix hives by selecting a "fixing method." Once a hive is fixed, it will be reintroduced to the yard as a new hive. The app also grants you access to the complete history of dead hives, ensuring a thorough record of hive activity.

Follow these steps to log a deadout or you can learn more about fixing hives here.

Log deadouts

We recommend logging deadouts in the field as much as possible. If you pull the tags from hives to scan elsewhere (such as back at the shop), it's easier to forget.

Fixing hives

1. After scanning a deadout

After scanning the hive and selecting the "reason of deadout" you can select "fix hive".

Then enter which "fixing method" you used to fix the hive and click next.

2. From the summary page

You can fix (A) individual hives or (B) multiple hives from the summary page.

A. Individual hives

To fix a single hive you can select "fix" next to the hive ID.

Then enter which "fixing method" you used to fix the hive and click next.

B. Multiple hives

If you wish to fix multiple hives at the same time you can select "Fix all hives".

Then enter which "fixing method" you used to fix the hive and either click "Apply to X hives" to apply the same reasons to all hives or simply click "next" to go to the next hive and enter a different reason.

Review the Summary and select SUBMIT.

Add notes if needed before selecting SUBMIT. If you have some fixed hives, you can also "submit and inspect" to start an inspection on those fixed hives.
